Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic massage is an age-old remedy which has proven to be an effective complement to chiropractic care. both are holistic in nature, and are based on belief in the innate healing power of the body. Together, chiropractic and massage facilitate the natural healing process by keeping the body in proper alignment and ensuring a free flow of nerve impulses and circulation of fluids.

Problems in the musculo-skeletal system can impede the natural healing process, and often cause dysfunction and pain. Most chiropractic doctors would agree that it is important to treat soft tissues such as muscles and tendons to help prevent and correct subluxations, and lessen the accompanying pain. Together, chiropractic and massage provide you with a more complete and effective system of health care.

Massage and Adjustments:

We would like to welcome our new massage therapistr, Trevor Churney, to our staff.  Trevor has worked as a professional Massage Therapist for three years and a Structural Integrator/Rolfer for two and a half years. He has logged over 1300 hours of body work training from two different Massage Therapy schools. Churney's ultimate goal through massage is to help rid individuals of muscle aches and pains.

Massage Therapy

Churney's professional style features a Deep Tissue/Neuromuscular Massage approach. He hopes to expel the common misconception that deep tissue means pain. Incessant poking and prodding hurts; deep tissue can be as equally relaxing as a Swedish massage if properly executed. Churney understands this concept and passes his cognition on to clients in the form of long-lasting relief following one of his sessions. He is fundamentally interested in the client's well-being. Churney administers massage to relieve pain for several days, not several hours, ultimately working toward extended time periods between the return visits.

Structural Integration/Rolfing

Churney executes Structural Integration and Rolfing by manipulating the muscles to promote better posture and alignment. Clients commonly start with a series of ten sessions in which the entire body is worked. After this initial series, the client can return for more targeted sessions or “tune-up” sessions about once every three to six months. These sessions are client and therapist interactive. Through this intensive process, clients learn to read their bodies extremely well; they are able to detect when a problem arises and determine if a tune-up is necessary.

Price for massage is $50 for one hour or $25 for half hour.

Local massage is often used in preparation for an adjustment. massage relieves muscle tension and warms up the soft tissues in the area, making joints more pliable and more easily adjusted. Many chiropractors themselves (or an assistant) prepare an area with local massage.
